Charlotte Emergency Housing (CEH) is a homeless shelter for working families. CEH’s home-like shelter (Plaza Place) can house 14 families at a time - about 50-60 people every night, 2/3 of whom are children. CEH provides each family with their own bedroom, and families are able to access shared kitchens and living areas. CEH also has its own four-star child care center (Rainbow Room) and food pantry. CEH provides social work family support while in the program and for up to one year after the family has left the shelter. This helps to ensure that each family’s employment and permanent housing remain stable. CEH helps about 50 families a year. |
