Wish List
• Welcome Baskets – Every family receives a welcome basket when they enter our shelter. The families are able to take these with them to help stock their own place when they move out. We ask for donations for the laundry baskets and for the following items to fill them:
• Kitchen items (pots and pans, skillets, cookware, utensils, manual can openers, etc.)
• Bedroom items (full/twin sheets, pillows, irons, alarm clocks)
• Bathroom items (shower curtains, bath mats, bathroom rugs, washcloths)
• Children’s Needs – Children and teenagers have special needs that we try to address with the following:
• School clothing/uniforms, backpacks, school supplies (graphing calculators, etc.)
• Winter coats
• Diapers and wipes, newborn and toddler items and toiletries
• Teen hygiene toiletries, hair combs/brushes, bedroom slipper socks
• New dvd movies, books, games, incentive prizes (Please no R-rated movies or violent action games)
• Office Needs – We accept donations of the following to keep our operating expenses down:
• New computers, printers, etc.
• PowerPoint projector to tell our story and to save money on duplication for meetings
• Cleaning products
• Paper products (paper towels, toilet paper, etc.)
• House Additions/Renovations – Since the shelter was built in 1991, and many of these things have never been replaced, we would love to add/renovate to make this a nicer place for the residents who live here:
• Replacement refrigerators, freezers, stoves, washing machines and dryers
• New cushions for our living room furniture
• New computers for residents and for child care labs
• Metal benches for the playground
• Monetary Gifts – These would be used for resident emergency needs, residential move-out expenses (deposits, rental truck, etc.), operational funding, etc.
To donate, please drop off items to the CEH shelter (Plaza Place) at 2410 The Plaza, Charlotte, NC 28205 any day of the week between 9:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. (Feel free to call 704-335-5488 for directions.)
