Volunteer Opportunities
We welcome volunteers to help with the following activities:
• Organize an activity for the residents, such as a BBQ, sports event or holiday event
• Create an on-site activity for the children, such as a craft project, pizza and movie night, Wii game time, or baking and decorating cookies
• Offer mentoring/tutoring/computer instruction for children
• Assist the Rainbow Room teachers by watching the children during down time or an outdoor activity
• Pick up food for the food pantry or unload food that is delivered
• Help organize storage areas
• Do yard work and plant flowers for the house
• Handle minor clerical and maintenance tasks
• Put together welcome baskets for the residents (sheets, towels, kitchen items, cleaning supplies, and toiletries)

Hand On Charlotte Volunteers
If you would like to volunteer as an individual, we have an opportunity through Hands On Charlotte to do activities, crafts and games with the children in the house on Tuesday evenings from 7:30 - 9:00 p.m. If you are interested in doing this activity, please contact Hands On Charlotte at 704-333-7471 to sign up for an orientation, and you can then sign up for the “Play with Me” volunteer opportunity at Plaza Place.
